I am spending the week with my grandkids in Virginia, which seemed like a fun place to have an Inspiring Writing Group. This is a small group I started in Elk Grove, CA. It has changed over the years but the model has stayed the same: write every week and share positive comments about each other's writing.
We recently added the "Inspiring Writing Group" on Linkedin where we often share our writing and encourage others to write. Writing can take many forms and practicing often helps with creative writing, professional writing, and emails.
Writing with kids can be insightful, inspiring, and good practice for them. I asked 8-year old Hazel for an idea for this week's prompt. We can write about anything, but I chose to challenge myself with this prompt: "I feel cooked up when..." I share my writing below.
!0-year old Calvin's story was in the form of a picture with a caption showing his feelings about his parents going on a trip.
The next picture is Hazel writing about creating a home in the computer game she likes to play.
Jonah chose to make a picture out of words. He likes to play video games and D&D which is reflected in his picture.
